Visitor Guide / golf guide

San Antonio has a well-deserved and growing reputation as a major national golf destination. In addition to boasting dozens of fantastic courses within a 20 minute drive from downtown, golfers will also appreciate the mild, temperate climate with more than 300 days of sunshine a year.

And for our bowl week guests, December has an average high temperature of 65 degrees and it is the city’s lowest rainfall month of the year.

Carefully crafted into the natural landscape, The Palmer Course at La Cantera offers rock outcroppings, rolling hills, majestic views and native vegetation and wildlife. Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa

From the veranda of the ranch-style clubhouse, the championship course seems to have been there forever - not just since 1993. And that's a testament to designer Arthur Hills' subtle style. With plenty of cactus, native oak and Texas wildflowers, the course blends in naturally with its surroundings. Three par 4's are less than 340 yards - a reprieve from the three that are over 445. A huge double green serves both the 9th and 18th holes. Located across the street from SeaWorld® San Antonio, this is an authentic Texas Hill Country golf experience. Just keep the ball in the fairway or you'll see more of the countryside than you bargained for.
